Band Program Receives Grant

On March 28th, the Wauwatosa West band program was given a $2,000 grant at the new Best Buy Mobile store in Mayfair Mall. Director Guy Kammerer, along with drum majors Brian Condon and Amelia Forsmo, attended the presentation.

The grant was provided by the GRAMMY Foundation and Best Buy. Every time a Best Buy Mobile store opens, the GRAMMY Foundation finds one local school music program to receive a $2,000 grant, which, in this case, was the band program at Wauwatosa West.

Kammerer plans to use the money to obtain new equipment for community performances, saying, “We are purchaing a new portable PA system with the money.”

Condon is excited about the grant as well. “I’m happy the band is receiving this money because it will help future band students after I’m gone,” he said.
