I have been sick and tired of the mainstream fast food coffee shops with the same predictable menus which lack variety, so I took it upon myself to discover a new go to affordable coffee shop.
Candy cloud, located in Oak Creek Wisconsin, is the newest coffee shop. Candy Cloud is a very modern walk in cafe. The walls are all painted white with dark grey accents. The menu is on electronic signs to the left right when you walk in their door. Once customers decide what they would like to order they walk up to two big ipads propped up on the front counter and order online and pay themselves. The order is then sent electronically to the back where it is prepared. There is bench seating and bar top seating as well in Candy Cloud where customers can have a seat when waiting for their order.
The Candy Cloud menu provides 47 different drink and food items ranging from coffee, boba, soft serves, melts, and donuts. Candy Cloud also has seasonal items which launch monthly. When I visited Candy Cloud I ordered the Golden Hour Breve with added tapioca boba, the Honey Oat Latte and Garlic Parmesan bites.
The Golden Hour Breve is an espresso drink. The cup is lined with caramel and filled with half and half, vanilla syrup and two shots of espresso. I added the option of additional boba. The sweet caramel and vanilla perfectly balanced the bitterness of the espresso and the boba added a soft, chewy texture to every sip.
The Honey Oat Latte is iced oat milk layered with shots of espresso on top. The espresso slowly seeped into the oat milk creating a beautiful ombre. The honey in the Honey Oat Latte is incorporated by lining the cup. The honey adds a little sweetness to the espresso but the Honey Oat Latte is definitely a latte for those who don’t mind more bitter lattes.
Candy Cloud doesn’t use the same old, boring, overused plastic coffee cups, instead each one of Candy Cloud’s drink items are served in a plastic see-through soda can container with the Candy Cloud logo imprinted in the middle. In order to open your drink you have to pop the pull tab open just like you would with a regular soda can. You can then either drink the drink straight out of the can or you can put the Candy Cloud straws into the opening and sip on your drink from there.
Lastly the Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Bites are small pretzel balls coated in melted garlic butter and sprinkled with salt and shredded parmesan cheese. Each warm, soft bite is delectable. The garlic butter is just strong enough to add flavor without being overwhelming with powerful garlic.
The total of my order was $18.16 . This is about the same price two drinks and a bakery item would be at a drive thru coffee shop like Starbucks.
I visited Candy Cloud at around 4:30 PM on a Tuesday. There were around six other customers in the establishment when I arrived and my order had around a five minute wait. The majority of the customers were young teenage girls, most likely due to candy clouds main advertising being on Instagram.
My experience at Candy Cloud was nothing but exceptional. And I will most definitely be revisiting and repurchasing.
