Floats, cheerleaders, football players, dancers, and clubs: Wauwatosa West’s parade on Friday, October 2nd, combined all of these things.

Many people lined Center Street that day, all to spectate what the students of Wauwatosa West came up with to be in this year’s parade. The Trojan celebration marked the second last day of events. Excitement ran high among many involved with putting the parade together.

“We’re finishing off the school year, and we have this beautiful kit that we bought, and it turned great, and all of our hard work and posters. Seniors go hard,” said Senior Lizzi Kinine, one of the many on parade floats.

“We’ve been working really hard on this, so I’m excited. I hope people like it. This took about an hour,” said Rony, a senior.

“I’m very excited. Although, we’re kinda putting everything together last minute. We’ve had setbacks, but I’m confident that things will turn out alright in the end,” commented Rick Sear, a junior.

“I think it turned out great, I love it,” voiced Sophomore Alyssa Piek, when asked about her float.

“It’s beautiful,” agreed senior Alicia Picard. “A lot of hard work has been put into it.”

As the parade wraps up the 2015 Homecoming Week, everyone had a favorite part.

“My favorite part is the pep rally, and the game, because it’s fun,” said Alyssa Piek.

“I like the parade, but the pep rally is the most fun,” told Kosta Zervas.

The concluding day of this week was also an emotional one for seniors.

According to Lizzi Kinine, “Homecoming week, like all the spirit days, that’s when it hits you [depending on] what grade you are in. I know for me, it was kind of surreal that I’m a Senior, until I hit homecoming week, and I was not above everyone else. I was like ‘Oh My God, this is the last time I’m doing this, and you’re gone’.”
