Back to School

For the first time in months, the halls of Wauwatosa West were flooded with students, the sound of slamming lockers and yelled greetings.

September 1st brought the first day of the 2015-16 school year at Wauwatosa West. There were very mixed feelings about the first day. When asked if they wanted to be there, mostly the students responded with a resounding “NO.”

However, some students are looking forward to this school year.

“I’m excited. I’ve been looking forward to it for awhile. It’s exciting that it’s our last year,” said senior Abbey Kuehn.

Other students had other reasons to be excited.

“I have a lot of good classes and I want to learn,” said junior Miranda Brehmer.

Some students aren’t looking forward to the year itself, but they do have hopes for these upcoming months.

“I want to pass my math class and biology, to understand biology more,” said sophomore, Janelly Gonzalez.

It isn’t just the students who are excited, the administration is also looking forward to the upcoming year.

“We’re looking forward to watching the relationships between our teaching staff and students continue to build and grow,” said Grochowski.
