Today, homecoming week reached a climax on the annual green and white day. Students, as well as staff, joined together in wearing West’s colors for the celebration. Freshman Joe Harrington commented, “It got everyone to show their school spirit, so that was really nice to see.” Sophomore Jade Braggs agreed, saying, “Everyone participated and it was fun to see everyone’s costumes and face paint.”
Another school tradition that happened today was the annual pep rally. The pep rally which was in support of the home coming game and all the fall sports has remained a favorite among the students.
Cheer leader and pep rally participant Jade Braggs commented, “It was a positive experience. It‘s not often that we get together as a school, and I feel like it’s a reminder of how hard-working everyone is.” Freshman Joe Harrington said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it because it wasn’t too time consuming, along with the fact that they came up with activities that everyone seemed to enjoy, which was nice to see.” Senior Travis Hudson particularly enjoyed the band’s performance, remarking, “The drum line was exciting and entertaining as always.”
The Poms team, cheerleaders, and school band pulled out their best routines for the pep rally and made it one that West will always remember.
