Random Chatter is a bi-weekly feature of a staff member at Wauwatosa West High School. We are random – are you?
Señora Franz is a new teacher in the Wauwatosa School District this year. She teaches Spanish I and II at West High School and Whitman Middle School. In addition to teaching Spanish, Franz has taught English as a second language in Boston, Taiwan, and Spain. She also coaches the Freshmen Girls Volleyball team.

If you were a month, which would you be? Why?
I would be February because it is short, just like me.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Why?
It is the Ooey Gooey Blizzard from Dairy Queen. It has chocolate brownie, chocolate shavings, and caramel, and it’s my favorite because it’s ridiculously sweet and I love caramel.
If you could live anywhere, where would you live? Why?
I would live in a house with lots of windows near any ocean, because it’s my dream to wake up in the morning and eat my bowl of Cap’n Crunch while listening to and looking at the ocean.
What would be your dream job (not related to education), with no regard to pay? Why?
I would open a soup café with my mom. Her name is Starr and we would call it Souper Starrs. I would do this because my mom makes the most incredible soups and I would love to spend tons of time with her.
If you won the lottery, what would you buy yourself first? Why?
Plane tickets to everywhere so that I could travel the world.
In your academic career, which grade did you like best? Why?
My junior year, because I played volleyball, basketball, and softball, and my teams were all really good, and because all of my best friends were seniors so they were all still in high school with me.
Do you have a guilty pleasure television show? If so, what is it?
Yes. I love reality T. V., but by far the most ridiculous show that I watch that makes me stupider every time I watch it is “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
What do you miss most during power outages?
My refrigerator.
If you had the ability to time travel for one day, where and when would you go and what would you do? Why?
I would travel back to the 1940s and see what my grandparents were like when they were young.
What is your favorite animal that is not a pet? Why?
I have no pets, so I feel that it is fair to choose the dog as my favorite animal. I have always wanted a dog. I have even made a list of my favorite dog names. My top choices right now are: Ebenezer, Tater, and Santa.
