Students and teachers share their love for the atmosphere, food, and rising stars as the Milwaukee Brewers kicks off their 2025 season.
The Milwaukee Brewers season started on March 27th 2025, there are 162 games played in each season, and so far the brewers are 29-28, which ranks them third in the National League Central.
“Going to Brewer’s games is special and is something that can’t be replicated by watching baseball on TV,” said Addison Main, a junior at Tosa West.
Students are not the only brewers fans at Tosa West. Teachers show equal support and enjoyment for this Wisconsin tradition.
“I’m a sucker for good old fashioned baseball games, so I like watching them,” said gym teacher Matthew Good.
There are many reasons students and teachers at Wauwatosa West attend brewers games, and most are for the thrill of the game. The excitement coming from the stadium creates an electrifying atmosphere.
“Some of my favorite memories with family and friends have been at the ballpark. Whether it’s catching a foul ball, getting an autograph, or enjoying the game and talking about the game, every moment is surreal,” said Addison.
It is also an amazing time for families, due to the activities around the ballpark and getting to see the players. It is an amazing experience for the kids when they get to see the people they look up to and try to make it far in the sport they love most.

“I love the atmosphere, just being at the game. I am cheering and clapping and the sausage race, that’s definitely my favorite part. When Bernie gets to go down the slide, it’s so exciting. So it’s really the atmosphere and the food that I love most,” said Tosa West social studies teacher Mrs. Kong.
American Family Field was recently named second best stadium for food choices for their Godzilla rolls, which are sushi rolls with shrimp, cream cheese, and spicy mayo, as well as their American classic brats and burgers as well as chicken and pizza. And of course you can’t forget about their toasted nuts.
“You can’t go wrong with a brat in the stadium and then if we’re cooking out beforehand, hamburgers, brats, whatever is the way to go. But if I’m inside the stadium, I’m just gonna have a brat,” said history teacher Christopher Benes.
Some of the players favorite foods at the stadium include Yelich’s personalized grilled cheese called the “Yeli Melt.”
The Milwaukee Brewers have some of the youngest talented stars in the game like Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang and Vinny Cappra, who led the brewers in spring training with the most home runs.
“I like Jackson Chourio, he is 21 years old and looks like he’s going to be a star, so he’s probably the most fun to watch. I don’t know about my favorite, there was a guy coming back who is really important, a good pitcher, he wasn’t so great last year, and his name is Abner Uribe. He pitched last night, and he’s fun to watch, but yeah, probably Chourio,” said History teacher Christopher Benes.
Students and teachers here at Wauwatosa West have many different opinions about their favorite players. The players shape the outcome of the game and the excitement given from the audience.
Games are often most exciting when something uncommon and unexpected happens during the season that either makes them clinch the playoffs or make it far. There have been many great moments in the history of Milwaukee Brewers, one ofthem is when they clinched their spot in the 1982 world series.
“So when they clinched their spot in the world series, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the clip, like thousands of people pouring onto the field to celebrate with the players, so that’s what would be my high spot.” said Benes.
