Despite a West touchdown by Senior James Brock in the opening 2 minutes of the game, the Tosa West Trojans lost to the undefeated Pewaukee Pirates 27 – 6 on Friday night, September 22nd.
Hours before the game, players from West were not intimidated by Pewaukee’s future Division One Quarterback. When told that Pewaukee’s senior T.J Watt was going to UW Madison after his High school career, Junior Niko Lewis replied, “It doesn’t matter, we’ll hit him anyways.”
Unfortunately, big hits were not enough. According to Senior Captain Adam Polivka the hardest opponents were “the Pewaukee linebackers. They brought a lot of pressure to the inside”.
“We had never been down the entire season till this game and I feel like coming into the half time we didn’t know a way to get out of the slump we were in…they simply out played us,” said Polivka.
Now with a 4-1 record the Trojans are more motivated than ever to clutch the playoffs. “We now know what it feels like to lose and I feel like it makes us a stronger family, it united us more than winning could ever do” said West junior Develyn Ferguson.
With a stronger bond then ever and unbounded motivation the Tosa West Trojans will play New Berlin Eisenhower on the 28th at West for a shot at the playoffs.
