Kung Fu Panda 4 may be well known for its heartfelt action, Comedic filler scenes, captivating scenery, twisting plot and well known actors. But the real reason you should watch Kung Fu Panda 4 is because of its powerful message that is extremely relevant to high school students. If you want to search for change inside, you have to take risks, challenge yourself and step outside of who you are and take a leap to learn about yourself. Reaching for new heights and goals to help you improve and become a better version of yourself.
The film takes place in a traditional village in China called the Valley of Peace. Home to the steps of ten thousand stairs and up the giant elegant and sacred Jade Palace. However this time takes us on a distant journey with the Dragon Warrior as he travels far overseas to a far place called Juniper City where you can find busy markets everywhere. A humongous urban populated city filled with more advanced architecture than we have seen. Po and Zhen(Awkwafina) will have to find the Villainous Shapeshifting Sorceress known as “The Chameleon”(Viola Davis) to stop her from stealing All Kung Fu from previous opponents Po has faced yet. Will she be the dragon warrior’s most challenging opponent yet?
There are several conflicts within the film. But one of the most important conflicts is the internal conflict Kung Fu Panda as Po faces himself as he gives up his position as the dragon warrior.
We see that in the movie, Master Shifu(Dustin Hoffman) wants Po to advance higher than any other Kung fu master and to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of peace. Po(Jack Black) wants to remain as the dragon warrior, although he knows that he will eventually have to find one soon.
Later in the movie, former Dragon Warrior Po knows of his last adventure, as he is about to go face on with the Chameleon. He decides to step down realizing not because he wanted to but because he needed to in order to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, one that
Change may be an unfamiliar, scary and difficult experience. but Kung Fu Panda 4 tells us that real change comes from within ourselves and once we embrace this change. We will not only become much better but we can also discover something new about ourselves or something we have never done before and fulfil our true potential.
These themes when combined with great animation, storytelling etc. can be for anyone, especially for young adults and teenagers who are experiencing change of events such as entering high school or graduating from High school. Learning a new skill or a new language. Maybe even learning some Kung Fu.
