Wauwatosa West students had the opportunity to talk to professionals in several different career paths during both lunch periods at the learning center on Thursday, November 21, during both lunch periods.
This event has allowed students to know more about careers from the perspective of professionals in those fields.
This is the first Career Connect event held this school year and the second time the event has been held at Wauwatosa West, last being in April 2024.
“Career Connect gives exposure for students to know more about what they possibly want to do in the future,” said Wauwatosa West counselor Nick Becker.
“College is expensive. It’s better to know what you want to do when you reach that point.” Junior Isabel Taormina found much interest from her experience at Career Connect after she learned more from paramedics.
“I’ve wanted to learn more about the field and this event has definitely helped.” Additionally, students who participated in the Career Connect event could enter a raffle with a chance of winning a gift card. Students are excited about the next Career Connect event, wanting to see more different and possibly unique careers at the next event.
“Next year I kind of want to see maybe some careers that are more unique that people don’t realize how essential they truly are.” Junior Isabel Taormina said.
