Amnesty International is an independent organization dedicated to campaigning for global human rights. As a club, Wauwatosa East’s Amnesty International works to engage in conversations about these injustices, and to assist in these issues through awareness campaigns as well as raising monetary funds.

This year, they have decided to support the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) by providing aid to the Yemen Humanitarian Crisis. Nearly 80% of Yemen’s population is in desperate need of humanitarian assistance and protection. The UN has verified the deaths of 7,700 civilians, but that number is believed to be significantly higher. Furthermore, twenty million civilians are struggling with food insecurity. 

Wauwatosa East Amnesty is working to raise monetary funds through a fundraiser with MOD Pizza at the Tosa Village location on February 17th, 2021. If you would like to help them in their mission, purchase a pizza and be sure to mention Amnesty!
