Tosa Wrestlers Snap Pewaukee’s 46-0 Streak
January 10, 2013
Wauwatosa West and East wrestling team defeated Pewaukee 32-16 snapping their six year, 46 match winning streak Wednesday night.
“Confidence was the key,” West senior and spectator, Austin Budge said. “We were the underdogs and we were determined.”
Over 500 people attended the match held at Wauwatosa West High School gymnasium.
“It was my first wrestling match and it was very exciting; the crowd was phenomenal,” West senior and spectator Abby Ciha said.
Pewaukee had never lost a conference match after joining the Woodland conference in 2006.
“I have never been so proud of this [Wauwatosa West/East] team,” head coach Kent Morin said.
Wauwatosa wrestlers Zach Miller, Ben Reagan, AJ Minucci, Max Nelson, Marcus Morrow, Alex Comte, Sam Hanrahan, Devine Burt, Greg Lewis, and Kai Castaneda all won their matches.
“I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” Nelson said. “Nothing has made me feel better.”
